The Ortiz Family Showcase is made available with the purpose of sharing our heritage. This web site is dedicated to Jose Ortiz and his descendants.
Jose Ortiz was born January 8, 1876 in Maricao, Puerto Rico and died in Brooklyn, New York in the year 1954. His mother's name was Rosario Ortiz. Jose father's name is not mention in his birth certificate. Therefore, the surname Ortiz comes from Jose's mother. He had one brother by the name of Nicolas Ortiz.
Jose was a foreman in La Hacienda Juanita in Maricao, Puerto Rico. La Hacienda Juanita was the place the Ortiz Family Reunion 2006 was celebrated. His brother, Nicolas was a *quincallero.
The year 2008 marked the 132th anniversary of Jose Ortiz birth. 132 years and six generations later, we celebrate.
